Do you like to sing, but your church/community choir is finished for the summer? Well, you can come sing with World Village Gospel Choir this summer!  Here’s how it works:

1. We rehearse only once a month, on a Wednesday evening.

2  We teach you the music using the call-and-response method – not scores.

3. After we teach you a song, we send you a practice track with your part isolated in one ear of your headphones, so you can learn your part (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) and also hear the other parts in your other ear. We also send out a score or lyric sheet.

4. If weather permits, we love to rehearse outside!

5. We do a mixture of gospel, world music, rock, pop, and sacred music. For this summer term, the music will be all a cappella (unaccompanied) vocal music with some percussion. We sing in different languages, and we honour any and all faith traditions, sexual orientations, and disabilities. We are community choir with a sacred heart.

6. The fee to sing for the summer is $84. This includes 4 rehearsals plus a concert (in the fabulous acoustic of Knox United Church – and possibly an outdoor concert), private vocal coachings if you desire, and all the practice tracks.

7. Rehearsals take place from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton St., on the following days: Wed. May 25th, Wed. June 22nd, Wed. July 27th, and Wed. Aug. 24th. The concert will be 8 p.m. On Fri. Aug. 26th with a possible outdoor concert on Sat. Aug. 27th at 1 p.m.
